- Develop and execute pack/module/thermal design/development for Lithium-ion battery systems through leading technical decision & direction
- Manage & review the design of pack/module/thermal development programs for battery system and associated components by properly understanding customer requirements
- Assist in developing proposals for new RFI/RFQs
- Lead design of pack/module/thermal of battery system to maintain project-level development timing.
- Develop design to ensure serviceability, manufacturability and other performance attributes for battery packs and modules
- Provide regular status reports to management and team members
- Work with BMS development part, systems engineering and current production team members within company
- Lead technical discussions and decisions with battery components suppliers
- Assist in developing technology roadmap and best practices

- Ensure homogenous design and development for battery modules / packs in close collaborations with cell team and parts suppliers
- Assist in preparation of 8Ds and other quality / reliability reports to ensure continuous improvements
- Lead Technical Design Reviews within affiliated companies and customers
- Facilitate technical and leadership growth for engineers and designers within pack department
- Lead concept design for proposal of battery pack development with early requirements definition; translate customer performance requirements
- Lead design direction to execute development of battery packs, including incorporation of D-FMEA, per requested customers/internal requirements
- Assist in quality, reliability and failure reporting; drive closed-loop handling of all technical issues to ensure continuous improvement
Required Experience / Education - Master's Degree (M.S.) in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from a four-year college or university required (Ph.D. preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive product development, preferably in BEV/HEV/PHEV industry
- 2 years of working experience as a technical expert
- Hands-on experience with CAD tools (Unigraphics or CATIA) and part release process
- Working experience with automotive systems design, packaging and assembly requirements
- Working experience with Quality & Reliability disciplines (FMEA, 8D & APQP) and development process (PLM or PDM)
- Experience with battery systems, high-voltage (DC) systems or high-current systems is desirable
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) and ability to discuss technical issues with wide range of audiences
- Present to various levels of management with different depth of expertise
- Articulate specifics on product details
- Describe development proposals and problem descriptions
- Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
