The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business processes and end user activities and determine the appropriate standard business practice to be used or to develop functional specifications for the development of a new practice when necessary. The Analyst must be familiar with Wabtec’s business systems as well as industry standard business practices and be able to work with end user communities to identify core activities in exiting processes.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze and document existing business practices.
- Develops functional specifications and system design specifications for client engagements.
- Understands the business issues and data challenges of end user's organization.
- Identifies organization's strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement.
- Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution.
- Leads testing efforts, providing guidance and supervision to end users to ensure adequate and thorough testing.
- Works with division personnel to identify required changes.
- Communicates needed changes to development team.
- Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
Requirements: - Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 4-6 years of experience in the field or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of business processes and computerized business applications, especially Oracle Applications EBS and Oracle Project Accounting/Manufacturing.
- Ability to analyze business processes, situations, and problems relating to Contract Management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to write detailed specifications of user requirements, business processes and steps required to develop or modify business processes.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications for the development team.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Familiar with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts.
- Motivation to provide excellent internal and external customer service.

Through the combined resources of Wabtec Rail Limited, Wabtec Rail Scotland, Brush Traction and LH, we provide rolling stock owners, passenger train and freight operators a range of services that cover all aspects of railway rolling stock maintenance, overhaul and refurbishment.
These services include: refurbishment of passenger rolling stock, repowering of locomotives, supply of new traction systems, manufacture and overhaul of train doors and air conditioning systems.
In addition we are able to offer a full train maintenance service including the overhaul of diesel power packs and cooler groups, air brake equipment, wheelsets, bogies, dampers, buffers, diesel engines, traction motors and alternators. We also provide a total range of off-site services at our customers’ own facilities, which can be located anywhere in the UK.
All products and services are supported by our in-house engineering team. The Wabtec Group of companies provide our customers a complete design service encompassing passenger stock interior design, new traction and control systems, locomotive diesel engine repowering, retro-fit air conditioning system design and re-engineered rolling stock door systems.
We also have an extensive knowledge in the following areas of operation: Road/Rail Equipment, Petrochemical - On/Off Shore, Marine, Plant -Mobile and Static, Waste & Recycling, and Quarrying.
