Senior Operations Manager

Operation Management
oDevelop, communicate and implement policies, procedures and work practices in the warehouse to meet business needs
oPlan daily logistics operations to achieve efficient utilization of resources against workflow and work demand
oPlan, develop and implement training programs and manuals for all operations functions
oEnsure the inclusion of safe work practices to all work processes, activities and methodologies, and promote a “Safety First” culture within the business
oConduct weekly safety inspections and take appropriate corrective actions
oInvestigate any workplace incidents/ accidents and implement actions to prevent reoccurrence

Inventory Management
oManage the inventory and replenishment systems
oThis includes the regular review of inventory policy; creation of appropriate inventory levels and ensuring timely and accurate request for stock
oIt involves the management of back orders resulting from inadequate stocking or out of pattern demands
oDevelop and implement operating procedures/policies to address stock adjustment issues and ensure inventory integrity
oDevelop a stock control process that will ensure stock control tasks (new products, discontinued products, inventory reports etc.) are completed daily and/or in a timely manner

Transport Management
oManage the transport expense budget and negotiate, finalize contracts with Transport Providers and subcontractors
oEvaluate the performance of transport providers and subcontractors and develop logistics strategies to enhance performance and reduction in cost

People Management
oManage, supervise and motivate all direct reports to achieve agreed goals and objectives (KPIs). This will include (but not limited to) recommendations for hiring, completion of performance reviews, on going employee training, work/resource allocation, issue resolution and employees counseling actions

Facilities Management
oDevelop and implement maintenance schedule to ensure any maintenance and repairs activities are completed in a timely manner

Management Reporting
oRegular reporting of service performance, stock and freight cost, as well as initiatives to improve these KPIs

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business administration with a focus on supply chain, materials management, or logistics is required
A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a supply chain or logistics function with at least three years management experience in a 3PLs environment.
Experience in managing a large team 
Experience in Warehouse Management System in a high volume distribution environment
Proven ability to setup and maintain a warehouse and inventory management system
