M is seeking a Finance Analyst for Corporate Finance supporting 3M Cogent, a leading biometric solution company as part of Traffic Safety and Security Division. This position is located in Pasadena, California. Be part of what’s next!
Job Summary
The person hired for the position of Finance Analyst will have responsibilities such as leading process improvement efforts in various areas such as project cost tracking, 3M integration, SAP business transformation (BT) deployment, etc. Provide financial counsel to drive sales and profitability growth. For example, tenders and quotation assessment and s new product introduction (NPI) analysis.
Primary Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following
Provide counsel to business team on financial and risk analyses for tender & quotation review
Lead effort to establish new processes and minimize manual effort for project cost tracking
Strong involvement in the profit and loss (P&L) close each month, including necessary analysis, including project reporting
Lead counsel and analysis effort for NPI
Drive process improvement in various finance operations including integration with 3M
Lead effort to prepare for 3M SAP B1 deployment
Articulate results of financial analysis, influencing business thinking, and negotiating outcomes to ensure business results attainment
Assure full compliance with U.S. GAAP and 3M financial standards
Other ad hoc projects or requests needed to support the business
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting and/or finance
Minimum of three (3) year of experience in financial statement preparation and/or execution of business queries
Minimum of three (3) year of experience of providing business counsel
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in contract analysis and project based business
Experience in leading projects for process improvement and/or business process redesign
Advanced MS Excel proficiency (i.e. Pivot table, Macro, etc.)
SAP B1, SAP, PeopleSoft, or other ERP system experience
Detail oriented with strong problem solving, analytical skills, and good organizational skills
Self starter, independent as well as a team player
Excellent oral and written communication
