Inspection Engineer

  • Act as NDT (Non Destructive Test) focal point to Shell Jurong Island staff on matters pertaining to, but not limited to NDT techniques, Interpretation of codes, standards, and specifications related to acceptance criteria and Inspection requirements.
  • Develop and manage site NDT (Non Destructive Test) programs, including but not limited to qualifications of NDT vendors, ensuring proper execution of NDT, management of NDT contracts.
  • Provide inspection technical assurance for development and execution of projects for static assets (column, vessel, tank, Heat Exchanger, reactor, furnace, piping, pipeline etc).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable DEP and other internationally accepted codes and standards.
  • Develop and execute QA/QC framework for relevant project activities, including but not limited to attending kick off / Pre Inspection Meetings, vendor qualification assessment and audits, review of drawings & QA/QC documents, attending shop inspection activities, and site installation.
  • Provide feedback to relevant Category Managers on Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCm) vendors quality performance.
  • Coordinate with specialists (Projects &Technology, etc.) and consultants as and when is required.


Requirements 
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • ASNT Level III in MT/PT/RT/UT/ET
  • Must be knowledgeable in Tube inspection techniques.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the NDT activities as ASNT Level III.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the fabrication related activities
  • Certified AWS-CWI
  • Good understanding of HSE Management System and Risk Assessment methodology.
  • Well versed in internationally accepted codes, standards, and practices.
  • Good understanding of degradation mechanisms affecting the equipment in the Oil & Petrochemical industries
