A home furnishing manufacturing company headquartered in the East Bay is seeking an International Operations/Production Manager. The primary responsibility of International Operations is to plan, coordinate and direct all aspects of production, including cost effectiveness, quality assurance and timely shipment of products in order to effectively achieve Company’s goals and objectives for the international facility. Note: This position requires frequent travel to Indonesia.

The primary responsibility of International Operations is to plan, coordinate and direct all aspects of production, including cost effectiveness, quality assurance and timely shipment of products in order to effectively achieve Company’s goals and objectives for the international facility. Note: This position requires frequent travel to Indonesia.
Responsibilities Include (but Not Limited To)
International Operations & Production:
- Proactively manage international manufacturing facility for cost, quality, timely deliverables and performance.
- Administer and oversea production in order to meet quality and cost goals and objectives in international facility.
- Identify and implement improvements to ensure products are shipped on-time.
- Maintain and review objectives and work plans to determine success of production and recommend improvement opportunities.
- Direct and guide to ensure production deadlines are met in a safe and efficient manner.
- Coordinate projects and initiatives critical to operations from abroad.
- Ensure proper vendor relations are maintained.
- Daily or regular communication with international manufacturing team and assure fluid production.
- Manage and coordinate with U.S. Quality Control, and communicate issues to international manufacturing team.
- Oversee hospitality and special projects with critical lead times.
- Provide project coordinating and management for various Company projects and special projects that may be assigned by the Principals from time-to-time.
- Complete other business-related tasks as dictated by the business and management.
- Regularly communicate with principles and management on performance and deliverables from international facility.
- Identify and communicate potential risks and devise potential contingency plans.
- Track, monitor and report all phases of production development in order to meet deadlines, and communicate any potential discrepancies.
- Communicate with Principals and Operations on a regular basis.
- Work with cross-functional departments in Indonesia and U.S. to ensure profitability of the Company.
Qualifications include (but not limited to):- Bachelors of Science degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Business or related field.
- Advanced degree a plus.
- Global management experience preferred.
- Experience with the furniture industry preferred.
- 10+ years of production management experience, including plant and headquarter positions.
- Strong business acumen.
- Exceptional project management skills.
- Expertise in R&D, production and processing, including knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, cost and related techniques and technology.
- Posses excellent mathematical skill, including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics.
- Ability to develop strategies, processes and procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of operation software tools.
- SAP B1 experience preferred.
- Strong work ethic.
- Professional leadership skills including conflict management skills.
- Strong prioritization, coordination, motivation, coaching and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization in writing and orally.
- Ability to travel internationally up to approximately 50%.
