About this company

TravelBird was founded in Amsterdam in April 2010. It all began in an attic, with founders Dennis Klompalberts and Symen Jansma. At this time, they were just offering one fantastic new travel deal every day. For the past four years TravelBird has been expanding to 17 countries across Europe, and our websites now feature the most competitively priced holidays. In April 2014 the famous Samwer brothers from Germany came on board as TravelBird’s first investors. TravelBird owes its success to a refreshingly simple idea: make it easy to book spectacular holidays and experiences by offering inspiring travel deals each and every day. Today TravelBird operates out of a large office on the Keizersgracht in the heart of Amsterdam, where over 650 enthusiastic and international “Birdies” work to find the best holiday destinations and create great deals for everyone.

Data Analyst Cloudreach - London

Cloudreach’s Operations Team work with challenging technical environments. We love the cloud, our 3D-Printed quadcopters and other cutting-edge technologies - there’s a genuine concern that some people in the office haven’t heard of pens or paper.
We’re Europe’s only top-tier partner for both Amazon Web Services and Google based in Europe - two giants of the cloud computing industry.  We currently have offices in London, Amsterdam, Vancouver and Edinburgh and are looking to take our expert services and solutions into the American, German and French markets too.  Join us on our journey to guide our customers in getting the best out of their cloud platforms and have a great cloud experience. Our Optimisation team are the best at what they do - performance, security and cost analysis meets consultancy. It’s not your average job, because Cloudreach is not your average company.
Not if. When will you join the best Cloud Platforms team in the industry?
Where has Cloudreach come from?
  • We were an idea in a London pub. Now we’re a global business, with hubs across Europe and North America. That growth is fuelled by a special team, developing smart solutions, for great clients.
  • We were voted #1 Small Business to Work For in 2013 and our management won Best Leadership.
What about the role?
This is a great role working closely with a variety of mix of SMEs and big brand clients such as The Financial Times, AG Barr, Kempinski Group, Channel 4 and the Press Association.
The role requires a strong mix of analytical, interpersonal and technical skills. Using a combination of your analytical insight into large customer billing and usage datasets, consulting skills, and cutting-edge platform-specific knowledge, and you will deliver a roadmap for optimisation and maintenance of our customers’ return on their cloud investment. You will also work with customers to build robust frameworks for security management and governance within their cloud platforms. You will deal directly with the customers’ technical, project and leadership teams, providing the enthusiasm, leadership and drive to ensure that your insights are implemented.
A significant proportion of the work will be on site with customers - predominantly, but not exclusively, located around your main office location - but we are not a typical consulting organisation so you’ll spend a lot of time in the office as well where you can share knowledge with - and learn from - your colleagues.
You will also play a key part in the sales process, to develop and win AWS Optimisation Services business.  You will also be required to work extensively with Amazon, Google and our internal technical specialists.
There is a clear career progression for this role either into any one of our Cloud Leader roles where you can grow to have both a sales target and line management responsibility or technical lead responsibility where you are the main contact for everything related to e.g. AWS.

What are our cloudy perks?
  • MacBook Pro -1007f, big screen monitor, personal Google Apps domain and groovy smartphone
  • Unique ‘cloudy’ culture where we keep our feet on the ground and our heads in the Clouds
  • 25 days holiday and your birthday off
  • World-class training and career development opportunities
  • No meaningless job titles in our flat management structure
  • Attractive and centrally-located office in Farringdon, London
  • Good food and team ‘cloudy’ lunches, taking over an London restaurant every Friday
  • Annual spot bonus of 10% base salary based on performance
  • Working with a collaborative, social team and leveling-up your skills faster than you will anywhere else

Desired Skills and Experience

What are we looking for?
You might be a data analyst looking to move into cloud consultancy, a consultant working for one of the large consultancies, or are perhaps responsible for costing and delivering technical transformation projects at a blue chip company. None of these may apply to you but you will definitely know your way around large data sets and spreadsheets, have excellent client-facing skills and a strong technical grounding. We are looking for someone who is fun, organised and an excellent communicator, with a passion to share and apply your knowledge.
What do you need to bring to the table?
  • Excellent analytical skills and a proven aptitude with large datasets, spreadsheets and perhaps SQL
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with customers and drive projects to completion, ideally with 2 or more years customer facing experience
  • Passionate about public cloud platforms and ideally a level of knowledge of AWS
  • Ability to ace the financial and security aspects of the platform(s) - you will be a Cloud “guru”
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills - A good planner and communicator (spoken and written English, other European languages a plus)
  • Confidence to drive change in complex political situations
  • Highly motivated and proactive
  • Honours degree in a mathematical or technical subject from leading university
  • Valid UK work visa
We believe cloud platforms must drive transformation of IT rather than an iteration of old IT practices. To succeed, different skills with new approaches combined with cloud ready tools are required. Cloudreach provides this and we help organisations succeed with their transformation.

Headquartered in London, Cloudreach is a global cloud consultancy and operational services provider with premier partner status with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google and a growing force within the Salesforce.com community.
