Senior Sales Engineer RMD Kwikform - Tanjong Penjuru

Job description

The jobholder will be responsible for the positive promotion of RMDK-Singapore, its products, its services and for the achievement of Hire and Sale Revenue targets through achieving the following key tasks:

1.      Attaining Sales Targets
Standards of performance relating to the above are achieved when:
  • The Hire, New Sale and Ex-Hire revenue values meet or exceed the agreed personal performance objectives
  • The performance is achieved within the level of authority established for the role
  • Personal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved
  • The employee uses the Forward Revenue Report (FRR) to provide a “gap analysis” of business secured versus target to be achieved for a minimum of three (3) months ahead in order to achieve the desired sales performance

  1. 2.  Sales Process and Pipeline
Standards of performance relating to the above are achieved when:
  • A managed and maintained sales pipeline capable of delivering the performance targets is established detailing opportunities and the effective time frame within the area/region’s market segment.  This will be accurately recorded, updated and reported weekly within the Forward Revenue Forecast (FRF) to the Country Manager
  • Clear and realistic personal performance objectives are established before each customer contact
  • Established RMDK sales practices (such as the use of technical enquiry checklists, sales proposals and summary quotations) are used as a matter of course during customer contacts
  • Projects and tenders identified through the lead system, trade press and other reliable sources, are investigated fully and then added to the pipeline

  1. 3.        Covering the Area/Region Effectively
Standards of performance relating to the above are achieved when:
  • All existing customers, target customers and projects are graded and qualified within the market segment
  • Customer contacts are correctly balanced between existing accounts and prospects
  • The number of new accounts opened and target accounts won each month does not fall below the agreed standard
  • There is full knowledge of all the key customer decision makers and key influencers at each location
  • Coverage of the allocated territory is planned in a manner which allows the optimum coverage of the current and potential customer base and maximises their financial contribution to RMD Kwikform
  • Weekly reports are regularly submitted using the standard sales report to update and inform the RDA and the Country Manager of the developments in his area/territory, customers and projects.
  • Developments or encounters regarding competition and/or pertinent information such us pricing, sales strategy, trends, promotion/advertisements and structure in formworks industry in his area, customers and projects are responsibly reported to the Country Manager.

 4.       Ordering, Enquiries, Reporting Activities, Records and Conforming to the Administration System
Standards of performance relating to the above are achieved when:
  • Customer orders are communicated to the operating branch using the Details of Order Form electronically
  • Customer enquiries are communicated to the engineering/design department and project details are provided in full
  • The employee provides weekly forecasting information which is both complete, accurate and on time for the Forward Revenue Report (FRR) to the Country Manager
  • Reports are neatly and accurately presented electronically using the laptop computer provided and forwarded on time to the Country Manager
  • Electronic daily reports are submitted weekly to arrive with the Country Manager within an agreed time frame
  • Electronic weekly planning sheets are sent to the Country Manager by 12 noon each Monday (or the first working day thereafter allowing for public holidays)
  • A detailed monthly area/region report detailing all leakages, future market opportunities, product developments and competitor activity is submitted to the Sales Manager against a published reporting calendar
  • Customer Record Cards are regularly maintained and updated
  • Customer complaints that could lead to a financial claim are reported immediately to the Country Manager and  Commercial Manager
  • Appropriate expenses are submitted to the Country Manager monthly supported by valid VAT receipts
  • Sickness involving absence from work is reported to Country Manager during the morning of first absence and the RMDK procedure is applied thereafter
  • Any form of accident, motor offence or theft of RMDK property is reported immediately to Country Manager              

  1. 5.  Understanding Fully The Products and Services of RMDK
Standards of performance relating to the above are achieved when:
  • The full range of products and services are thoroughly understood
  • There is confidence in the ability to present each product skilfully
  • When customer queries can be answered quickly and confidently
  • There is regular analysis to ensure the full product range is offered
  • There is a clear understanding of the company’s selling edges – which are then used in sales argumentation
  • Company sales aids are used wherever possible e.g. presentation folders
  • How our products compare to the competition in the area/market       

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Should be Singaporean citizen;
  • University/college level or vocational/technical course graduate;
  • With good oral and written communication skills;  should know how to speak, read and write in Mandarin and English;
  • Currently working in the Formwork sector in Singapore a strong advantage;
  • With minimum of 5 years work experience in Sales; will have a big advantage if experience includes Technical design and Sales management in construction / heavy equipment industries in Singapore and other South East Asia.
