Housewares Sales Associate - Part-Time Eataly - Chicago, IL, US

Job Description

Responsible for providing outstanding customer service that meets or exceeds guest expectations. Assist guests in choosing books and products. Label and package products as necessary. Actively pursue and engage customers to attract business during downtime. Duties include organizing, stocking, merchandising, and, most importantly, being knowledgeable about Eataly’s housewares products. 

 

As an ambassador of Eataly products and services, the Housewares Sales person is responsible for helping to create and maintain quality experiences for each guest that comes to Eataly. Eataly ambassadors are expected to actively engage with guests and spend quality time with each customer.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing outstanding customer service that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
• Label and package products as necessary.
• Stocks counter and display stands neatly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
• Keeps display equipment and counters clean and free of debris.
• Cleans equipment thoroughly and promptly as necessary or assigned.
• Keeps floor in work or service area clean and free of debris.
• Cleans work station thoroughly before leaving area for other assignment or going home.  Ensures cart is empty and ready for the next shift in the warehouse, and that empty boxes are disposed of and ladders are returned to their proper area.
• Packages books and products neatly and attractively as per department standards.
• Transport items and books from the warehouse to the work station.
• Promptly informs management when books, beauty items and product quantities or supplies are low.
• Punctuality- Adhering to work schedule and arriving to work on time.
• Adheres to all company and department procedures, policies, expectations and quality standards.

 

 

Skills/Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions. Previous customer service/sales preferred. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations. Must have a strong desire to learn. 
• High school graduate or equivalent desired. Knowledge or interest in modern and traditional kitchenware, cookbooks and food literature desired.
• Position requires standing, bending and mobility the entire work day. Must be able to lift full pans, not to exceed 50 pounds. Cleaning duties such as wiping counters and small equipment, sweeping and refilling stock. Must be able to communicate politely and effectively with guests and other employees.
• Ability to communicate effectively and understand instructions. Basic math and measurement skills. Ability to work and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
